The Quinta da Regaleira garden in Sintra, Portugal Part 2

Continued from yesterdays Blogg:
The QUINTA da REGALEIRA in Sintra outside Lisbon, Portugal!

This magnificent Estate namned after it's first owner Baroness da Regaleira, where bought in a public auction 1893 by Antonio Augusto de Carvalho Monteiro that put these rocky hillside gardens in order 1898 with help of the Set Desigenr and Architect Luigi Manini.

1904-1911 The Main house and the Chapel where built.
1946 a new owner, Waldemar Jara dÓrey, take over the Estate.
1987 the Estate are sold to the Japanese company Aoki
1997 The Muncipality of Sintra acquires the property, and after restoration it's open to the public the year after, to all our pleasure :D
 The Entrance to the garden from the main road with a beautiful walkway over linking the lower garden with the main house
 The Initiatic Well, a 27 meter deep Subterranean well with a spectacular starcase down to the bottom
 From the bottom You looking up to the uppper gardens and the opening of the well.
From here leading several underground tunnel to other garden and waterfalls.

 One of the seating areas, can just imagine how beautiful it would be to sit here in the summer
There is a lot of tower from where You can see over the gardens

Here and there You can get a glimpse of the old Moorish castle high above Sintra
